This site has no accounts and no server-side forms. The letter tool on our Post a Letter page runs entirely in your browser; the text you type is not transmitted or stored by us. We only receive personal data if you choose to email us, in which case we process your name, email address and the content of your message.
Our hosting provider may record standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and time of request, for security and reliability. These are kept for a limited period.
Why we use it
We use emails to reply to you, to consider your tradition for publication and to correct our content. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in running an editorial publication, or your consent where you agree that we may quote you.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal data. We keep correspondence for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner, or longer if you have agreed to be quoted on the site.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data and object to processing. Write to us at the address above. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
